Creative Writing from the Sudans is very pleased to announce that acclaimed Sudanese author Leila Aboulela will be contributing to the book with her very own creative piece, as well as helping judge the winners of the writing competition!
Aboulela grew up in Khartoum and completed most of her education there before she came to the London School of Economics to do a Masters. She currently resides in Aberdeen, raising a family and writing, but keeps close ties with Sudan. She was awarded the prestigious Caine Prize for her short story The Museum and was nominated for the Orange Prize in 2002, for her novel The Translator.
We are thrilled to have her on board.
